Wreck Beach is one of the best gay nude beach in Canada. It’s not strictly gay, and you’ll have actually a very mixed crowd of both straight and gays, and of all ages. You have also nude beach vendors coming here to sell you drinks, quite handy to have an ice cold drink if you’re lucky to be there on a very hot day. The water is self is quite cold, and not crystal clear, but worth a swim if you’re brave enough. The beach is full of huge logs, which are very convenient to shelter from the wind on certain days. Directions: to get there follow University of British Columbia as the beach is close by. Follow 16th Avenue west through the campus until the end of the road at SW Marine Drive. Then turn right onto Marine Drive. After 1.5 kilometers, look for Gate 6 on your left. That’s where the trail 6 begins, which will lead you down to Wreck Beach. Take the staircase to go down to the beach, you’ll arrive first at the main nude beach that is marked by a sign. For the gay section keep walking left when facing the ocean, it’s located close to the breakwater. More action is happening in the bushes, that’s kind of the cruising area. Be a discreet as some hikers like to walk this way.
