If you have still not set a foot in Montreal, make sure to include it on your holiday shortlist. The city has a rich history with a strong European heritage, it is also known as "the Paris of the North”. This French-speaking (and English-speaking) city is home to one of the largest gay neighborhoods in the world, located around St. Catherine Street East near Metro Beaudry, the entrance to the metro station being marked with rainbow pillars. Great place to explore by foot, especially in summer. Le village hosts all you need to have a great time, and for all tastes: gay bars and gay clubs, but also drag queen cabarets, sauna et some even more kinky places. Montreal also hosts amazing gay events, the most famous one being Montreal’s gay pride, also called Fierté Montreal. But there are other major gay friendly events such as the Black and Blue electronic music festival and the Bal en Blanc music festival.
